Yukon Arts Fund

Yokun Economic Development Fund

The Economic Development Fund (EDF) supports projects and initiatives that provide long-term, sustainable economic benefits to Yukoners and Yukon communities. It replaces the Regional Economic Development Fund, Strategic Industries Development Fund and Enterprise Trade Fund. The fund supports business innovation, sustainability and planning; encourages economic diversification through market support; and increases business competitiveness through capacity and capital development. Funding is available for eligible project costs up to 75% and up to 50% of capital expenses, with funding maximums at $30,000 for Tier 1, $30,001–$100,000 for Tier 2, and $100,001–$500,000 for Tier 3. Eligible activities include business plans, market research, marketing plans, participation in trade and investment events, organizational capacity development, and other business development and capital-related activities. Multiple deadlines exist for different tiers, with applications accepted throughout the year for Tier 1, April 15 and September 15 for Tier 2, and January 15 for Tier 3. Eligible applicants include Yukon businesses meeting specific conditions, Yukon First Nation governments and development entities, Yukon municipal governments, community societies or industry associations in good standing, and not-for-profit corporations incorporated under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act. The fund aims to support economic diversification, private sector employment, and increased economic activity in Yukon communities.
